Popcorn!
Dear Blog..
Today's post is all about Popcorn.. no no.. not the eating kind :P What Are you thinking? No.. it's that particular musicpiece which everybody knows..
You know? No? Some information..
from Wikipedia:
So.. the tune actually was composed by Gershon Kinsly.. in the 69's.. (wow.. wasnt' born yet..) let's try to fint this original on youtube.. where you can find just everything. (Yep, did find it.. TY! YT!*)
I think this popcornsong just made a whole way to the popcorn song of today.. It sounds very different!! This sond does remind me of flowers and stuff.. (weren't the sixties and seventies all about those things?? ohoh! a prejudgement? It wasn't named popcorn song in no way..
What's this then I found?? Another sample, same tune.. (interesting isn't it!?) it's like played on an organ or so? Have no idea! It's cool.. having the 'western spaghetti theme in the end :D
Just three years later the band 'hot butter'.. used this fragment in their song. It's more or less cleaned up now.. and there were more extra soundeffects to this one.. and there's a tambourine too :D (and behold.. it's from 1973!) And off course.. the giant succes followed.. this version was a big succes
A bit more on the 'Popcorn side..' (source from Wikipedia)
Wowzers.. there's just this huge amount of covers for this one song!! everyone wanted a piece of this right!? As I just discovered, even Muse (see post below) dared to cover this too!! Brave Muse!! Wait for it.. it comes in a minit!
I came up with many many many versions of the Popcornsong.. everyone topping the other one.. It's really good! Some sounding very future like too :D Here is a list..
TECHNO REMIX: Not bad éh?
Popcorn song: Muppet Style! The muppets also did it! It's one of my favorites.. the Swedisch chef making Popcorn offcourse!
DUBSTEP REMIX: Nice!
CRAZY FROG: REMIX..: This is just 7 years old! From the crazy frog :) This version is pretty good!
Done by Muse: It's just brilliantly done! Watch that guitar playing!! Where the others are more about soundeffects and keyboardsounds.. the version by Muse is more pure I guess, it's actually done with REAL instrument and that makes it more unique and original I guess :). (others where the emphasis lays on soundeffects is also very creative!)
(*Thank You, YouTube)
Now I really have to quit.. my head is hurtin from all those Popcorn versions!!
But I will not let you go without the recipe of how to make popcorn offcourse!!

Today's post is all about Popcorn.. no no.. not the eating kind :P What Are you thinking? No.. it's that particular musicpiece which everybody knows..
You know? No? Some information..
from Wikipedia:
"Popcorn" is an early electronic pop instrumental, originally composed by Gershon Kingsley in 1969 on his album Music to Moog By.
The same year it was released and recorded at Audio Fidelity Records label in New York City. The composition received its title during a meeting between Kingsley and Audio Fidelity; Kingsley indicated the track did not have a title and someone suggested "Popcorn", with 'Pop' standing for pop music and 'corn' for kitsch.[citation needed]In 1972, Hot Butter's rerecording was a huge hit in many countries. That version is by far the best known, even more than the original. "Popcorn" has since been covered by a great number of artists. Composer Gershon Kingsley (of Perrey and Kingsley) first recorded it for his 1969 album Music to Moog By. In 1971 the song was re-recorded by Kingsley's band First Moog Quartet. Stan Free, member of the First Moog Quartet, rerecorded the instrumental with his band Hot Butter in 1972. The record was one of a rash of Moog synthesizer-based releases that followed the 1968 Billboard pop Top 40 chart success Wendy Carlos had with Switched-On Bach and that characterized electronic music of the mid 1960s, 1970s and early 1980s.
The title refers to the short staccato or sharp "popping" sound used. A studio technician may have suggested the name "popcorn" because it was pop music and 'corny', meaning kitsch. There were two 7" covers, both released in 1972 under Musicor Records and Stateside labels. So this means.. it's already 50 years old? Yeah! Some old things DO come back again! Nono.. it's just that vibrating, uplifting, moodshifting music that just brings a smile onto my face, and a happy vibe throughout my whole body :D
So.. the tune actually was composed by Gershon Kinsly.. in the 69's.. (wow.. wasnt' born yet..) let's try to fint this original on youtube.. where you can find just everything. (Yep, did find it.. TY! YT!*)

Hot Butter's version became the first primarily electronic-based piece of music to reach the American popular music charts, peaking at number nine on the Billboard Pop Singles and number four on the Adult Contemporary Chart. The single had a great success in Australia where it reached number one for ten weeks. It was also number one in Switzerland, where it topped the chart for ten weeks and stayed for 17 weeks in the top ten. In Norway, it was number one for nine weeks and featured for 21 weeks in the top ten. It was also number one in Germany and reached number five on July 22, 1972 in UK and number 15 in Canada - October 1972. In France, this version of "Popcorn" is the 131st best-selling single of all time, with about 900,000 sales

But I will not let you go without the recipe of how to make popcorn offcourse!!
Perfect Popcorn Recipe
- Cook time: 10 minutes
Add to shopping list
INGREDIENTS
- 3 Tbsp canola, peanut or grapeseed oil (high smoke point oil)
- 1/3 cup of high quality popcorn kernels
- 1 3-quart covered saucepan
- 2 Tbsp or more (to taste) of butter
- Salt to taste
METHOD
1 Heat the oil in a 3-quart saucepan on medium high heat.
2 Put 3 or 4 popcorn kernels into the oil and cover the pan.
3 When the kernels pop, add the rest of the 1/3 cup of popcorn kernels in an even layer. Cover, remove from heat and count 30 seconds. (Count out loud; it's fun to do with kids.) This method first heats the oil to the right temperature, then waiting 30 seconds brings all of the other kernels to a near-popping temperature so that when they are put back on the heat, they all pop at about the same time.
4 Return the pan to the heat. The popcorn should begin popping soon, and all at once. Once the popping starts in earnest, gently shake the pan by moving it back and forth over the burner. Try to keep the lid slightly ajar to let the steam from the popcorn release (the popcorn will be drier and crisper). Once the popping slows to several seconds between pops, remove the pan from the heat, remove the lid, and dump the popcorn immediately into a wide bowl.
With this technique, nearly all of the kernels pop (I counted 4 unpopped kernels in my last batch), and nothing burns.
5 If you are adding butter, you can easily melt it by placing the butter in the now empty, but hot pan.
6 Salt to taste.
Additional tips: From the comments section
a If you add salt to the oil in the pan before popping, when the popcorn pops, the salt will be well distributed throughout the popcorn.

Childhood.. Memories
Dear Blog..
Today.'s post is all about WOOF!
Did I ever mentioned the fact I loved tv back in the good old (and young) days? There was this post not so long ago,.. about Der kleine Vampire.. one of the greatest kidsshow on earth! Now the next one has arrived.
A few years ago.. i googled this show .. i remembered it too, from the 'olden' days.. I didn't had a clue what is was all about, I only remembered it was about a boy, who turned into a dog! The opening credits included a song on the harmonica, which I adored at the time.. (can't play it though) and then this harmonica reminded me of another 'disney' movie I much much adore.. 'Escape to Witch Mountain'.. in one of the scenes the boy Tony, could make the dolls come alive.. just with the song on his harmonica.. love love love.. :D.. but i'm going off track here.. now i'm sticking to the 'woof'.. maybe the next post could be about ETWM :D
But moving on.. I still like the whole idea of shapeshifting.. (I still do actually..) and then this brings me .. to the 'animorphs'.. (a series of my childhoodbooks about shapeshifting).. wow.. it really IS ages ago.. that I once was a small girl..
Here's the opening credits of WOOF.. (love it! And just the way I remembered it exactly)
Some more information about this series.. (I think I once saw this on the BBC channels.. it never came on the Dutch or the Belgian channels :))
What wikipedia says:
PS: This is one scene from the Escape to Witch Mountain.. playing the harmonica.. :)

What wikipedia says:
Woof! is a British children's television series produced by Central Independent Television about the adventures of a boy who shapeshifts into a dog. It was based on the book byAllan Ahlberg. It was directed by David Cobham. It was written by Richard Fegen and Andrew Norriss.
The show was first broadcast in 1989. It starred Liza Goddard as teacher Mrs Jessop. Edward Fidoe played Eric Banks, the boy who turned into a dog (played by Pippin) of the same name. It also starred Thomas Aldwinckle as Eric's friend Roy Ackerman and later Sarah Smart as his tomboy best friend Rachel Hobbs. Filming was interrupted for a while when Smart broke her leg.
The show generally featured weekly escapades to do with the dog power. Late in Eric's run of episodes, a start at a plot arc was developed, with Eric discovering the transition is caused by adrenaline, and meeting up with an adult (played by Anthony Head) who has the same affliction. From Series Six which began airing in 1993, the episodes featured the adventures of Rex Thomas (played by Adam Roper) and his best friend Michael Tully (Monty Allan). Rex inherits Eric's "condition", and later becomes Mrs Jessop's stepson after she marries his father, Ken (Owen Brenman). Lionel Jeffries also guest-starred as Rex's Grandfather.Leslie Grantham appeared in some of the later episodes as Mr Garrett, a ruthless dog warden from the local dog pound. Stephen Fry appeared in one episode, as a cartoonist whose work is disrupted by Grandad and Rex.The ninth and final series, consisting of seven episodes, aired in 1997. It featured Jim Walters (Sebastian Mahjouri), accompanied by his cousin Brian Barford (Jack Allen) and next door neighbour Carrie Howard (Faye Jackson). By the time the show ended, Liza Goddard was the only original cast member to feature through all nine series. There have been 4 dogs used over the years. Pippin was the first, and she also starred in Children's BBC programme Come Outside, and a number of educational schools films. She was the offspring of one of the dogs who played Benji. Tich was the second dog to play Eric. Punch, a small white dog, played Rex the Dog. Tinka appeared as Jim the dog in the final series. Pippin was owned and trained by Ann Head.[citation needed]Early series were filmed around the suburb of Moseley in Birmingham. Later in the series, production moved to Nottingham and much location filming took place in and around West Bridgford, a suburb just south of Nottingham, Keyworth (a large village, 7 miles south of Nottingham) and various other Nottinghamshire towns. The show was broadcast in Australia at 6:50am on weekdays on 7TWO from April 2010.
- Series 1: 4 episodes - 18 February 1989 - 11 March 1989
- Series 2: 7 episodes - 23 November 1989 - 11 January 1990
- Series 3: 8 episodes - 20 February 1991 - 17 April 1991
- Series 4: 7 episodes - 10 January 1992 - 21 February 1992
- Series 5: 6 episodes - 7 October 1992 - 11 November 1992
- Series 6: 10 episodes - 13 October 1993 - 15 December 1993
- Series 7: 10 episodes - 12 October 1994 - 14 December 1994
- Series 8: 10 episodes - 5 October 1995 - 14 December 1995
- Series 9: 7 episodes - 8 January 1997 - 19 February 1997
This show ran for a whopping 9 seasons!! From the beginning of 1989 (I was only 4 back then) till the end in 1997 (was already 12.. an near teenager!)
Each series had a different amount of episodes.. from 4 episode in series one to 10 episodes in series 8 and then 'only' 7 episode in the final series 9!

Muse - Supermassive Black Hole (Original Music Video) HD [1080p]
Was thinking of Twilight today.. there's just this epic scene in the first movie.. It's actually the base - ball game with the whole Cullen (clan) and Bella.. and then his song just pops in.. and it goes so well together with that particular scene!!! Before the movie I allready liked this song.. it has a very nice sound to it!!
The song is called: Supermassive black hole.. by Muse..
Ooh, baby don't you know I suffer?Oh, baby can you hear me moan? You caught me under false pretensesHow long before you let me go?
Ooh, you set my soul alightOoh, you set my soul alight
Glaciers melting in the dead of nightAnd the superstars sucked into the supermassive(Ooh, you set my soul alight)Glaciers melting in the dead of nightAnd the superstars sucked into the supermassive(Ooh, you set my soul)
I thought I was a fool for no oneBut ooh, baby I'm a fool for youYou're the queen of the superficialAnd how long before you tell the truth?
Ooh, you set my soul alightOoh, you set my soul alight
Glaciers melting in the dead of nightAnd the superstars sucked into the supermassive(Ooh, you set my soul alight)Glaciers melting in the dead of nightAnd the superstars sucked into the supermassive(Ooh, you set my soul)

Supermassive black hole
Some wee details.. What is a Supermassive Black Hole?
A supermassive black hole is the largest type of black hole in a galaxy, on the order of hundreds of thousands to billions of solar masses. Most--and possibly all--galaxies, including the Milky Way[2] (see Sagittarius A*), are believed to contain supermassive black holes at their centers.[3][4]Supermassive black holes have properties which distinguish them from lower-mass classifications. First, the averagedensity of a supermassive black hole (defined as the mass of the black hole divided by the volume within its Schwarzschild radius) can be less than the density of water in the case of some supermassive black holes.[5] This is because the Schwarzschild radius is directly proportional to mass, while density is inversely proportional to the volume. Since the volume of a spherical object (such as the event horizon of a non-rotating black hole) is directly proportional to the cube of the radius, the density of a black hole is inversely proportional to the square of the mass, and thus higher mass black holes have lower average density. Also, the tidal forces in the vicinity of the event horizon are significantly weaker. Since the central singularity is so far away from the horizon, a hypothetical astronaut traveling towards the black hole center would not experience significant tidal force until very deep into the black hole.

Saw it yesterday.. and it was bloody good!! :D
After seeing Quantum of Solace.. I finally took the step to see a James bond movie on the big screen.. (as I have never ever saw one.. but Daniel Craig really does a good job)
This movie is all about some very good, wonderfull, almost over-the-top.. action and stunts.. I was really impressed just by the first scene! And note.. the opening credits with Adele's Skyfall.. was just brilliant.. I thought this was just something Samir would do with his computer..

A cool one..
Dear blog.. a few weeks ago i heard this song on one of our musichannels.. And I just got goosebumps from it.. It's soo beautifull with the vocals done by Sia, and the powerfull music by David Guetta.. Not only the piano in the beginning, but also the beat tracks makes it very strong and beautifull! The music video's nice and somewhat mysterious..
Loving this one...
Here are the lyrics:
A shot in the dark
A past, lost in space
Where do I start
The past, and the chase
You hunted me down
Like a wolf, a predator
I felt like a deer in love lights
You loved me and I froze in time
Hungry for that flesh of mine
But I can't compete with a she wolf who has brought me to my knees
What do you see in those yellow eyes
Cause i'm falling to pieces
I'm falling to pieces
I'm falling to pieces
I'm falling to pieces
Falling to pieces
[beat break]
Did she lie in in wait
Was I bait to pull you in
The thrill of the kill
You feel, is a sin
I lay with the wolves, alone it seems
I thought I was part of you
You loved me and I froze in time
Hungry for that flesh of mine
But I can't compete with a she wolf, who has brought me to my knees
What do you see in those yellow eyes
Cause i'm falling to pieces
I'm falling to pieces
I'm falling to pieces
I'm falling to pieces
Falling to pieces
[beat break]

A few days ago.. an unearthly announce..
____________________________
In short.. this article says the Walt Disney Company has bought Lucasfilm ltd.. for a lot of dollars.. and it announces 3 more Star wars movies.. (episode 7 - 8 and 9) the first one to be released in 2015..
I'm i the only one really excited by this?? Although.. mr Lucas only stays aboard being the creative adviser.. I don't know if this is a good idea or not..
i'm not sure what Disney is going to do with Star Wars.. (plieeeees, don't screw it!)
In the meanwhile.. this movie turned up of Darth Vader.. (oooh, the horror!)
