I just love music.. but sometimes, really sometims, a video can fit the music so well.. What vids do I love?
Here's my top 5...
Definitely Up and up by coldplay (2015 -2016)
Love the visuals here.. very creative and smart! Well done!
Another one by coldplay is 'Life in technicolor'.. about.. puppets! Lovely ain't it? (2009
This one absolute makes the list..
Aha's Take on me! (1985 - 1986) You see!! 1985 wasn't that bad after all :D
On the side: noted from YT:
At the 1986 MTV Video Music Awards, the video for "Take On Me" won six awards—Best New Artist in a Video, Best Concept Video, Most Experimental Video, Best Direction, Best Special Effects, and Viewer's Choice—and was nominated for two others, Best Group Video and Video of the Year. "Take On Me" was also nominated for Favorite Pop/Rock Video at the 13th American Music Awards in 1986.
--> Well f*cking deserved!
And ofcourse this vid - that was made entirely in ZERO gravity.. (talking about going big or going home!) Well done to this director going far from the main road!
OK Go - inside out (2016)
Also I loved this one - tune from way back (2001)
memorabel of the list.. that other one of OK go: Here it goes again! The tredmill musicvideo..
and of course ... Slegdgehammer by Peter Gabriel (1987)
Simslover over here.. Couldn't resist myself of posting this QUOTE.
ever since I played Sims abracadabra I was HOOKED! Loved it to bits.. played my ass off and so on, and so on.. Now i'n my nearly 30's I still have a cd near my PC for when the time is ripe and I want to play a wholenighter (nope, no more can do, or' i'm rubbish in the mornings...)
I only went as far as SIMS 3 :) being sims 2 AND sims 3 being my absolute favorite.. The extensions always were the best bits.. Having the 'Paranormal Sims or having the beach side sims (where you'd get to turn your sim in a mermaid!!!!) De max!
All hail SIMS! And cheats too off course.. and something that was called the.. INSimenator.. or the fact, you could be abducted or got pregnant by an alien or even the grim reaper himself.. so messed up shit I have seen!!
But you know.. getting tickets (back in october 2021) the excitement of getting tickets in the first place and than realizing this is exactly a game of 'russian roulette'.. you never know what you"re going to get.. and so, we didn't have the best of places and stood the whole night (although it was a seated place) ah well.. it was bloody brilliant..!
Loved every second of it..
Not only Coldplay shaped my music style while growing up, Rammstein also put his 2cent in me :D..
And now I have seen em all...
Maybe.. someday... I would love to see Muse maybe? Or John Willams still...
You know.. T- kid went 7 on the 18th of August! Like he said.. NOW MY LIFE IS REALLY STARTING.. yes kid.. this year and the next and the next.. every year.. Congratulations my boy.. much love from mum and dad xxxx
Ending this post on a sad note
What happend in the summer of '22?
Summer lovin', had me a blast
Summer lovin', happened so fast
I met a girl crazy for me
Met a boy cute as can be
Summer days drifting away
To uh, oh those summer nights
....
Mrs Oliva Newton John has sadly passed away .. on a (ironically) summerday... RIP
The Plank is a 30-minute, British slapstickcomedy film for television from 1979, which was written and directed by Eric Sykes. This version, which is a remake of the 1967 film The Plank, also written and directed by Sykes, was produced by Thames Television and broadcast on the ITV network.
Although not literally a silent film, it has little spoken dialogue. Instead the film is punctuated by grunts, other vocal noises and sound effects. The soundtrack was composed by Alan Braden, and performed by Alan Braden and his orchestra.
The slapstick humor really gets to me, although I saw it a couple of times allready it still quite funny... My 6 year old also laughed his butt off!
Yesterday I was looking at the Music channels when the guy on the piano was playing something very familiar!
It was the theme from the welknown classic 'Splash'.. The musicbox scene. That particular song wasn't on the Original soundtrack of the movie, but really deserves a place on it.. It's a piece of classical music. After a quick search I learned it's originally played on a piano, but the stringpiece performing this song in the movie is actually very good!
The name is Romance by Chopin and is comes from the Chopin: Piano Concerto No.1, Movement 2 - Largo, Romance (Zimerman)
Happy 50th Birthday Donald Duck | Dick Van Dyke | Donald Duck | 1984 |
Found this on my VHS today..something my mother must have recorded back in the day... Maybe it was around 1984 it showed up on our national tv, I looked it up on YT en there it was! Some old footage (but still quite good quality).. my copy almost lost everything original from this show, with recordings of other shows.. but here it is! The original from 1984.. Like it said in the comments: I don't know what we'd do without Youtube these days!
In the meanwhile.. Donald Duck will be celebrating his 90th birthday in 2024!
YAY!
Also.. that song 'happy birthday' is quite catchy! Not anything like the Happy birthday to you we commonly know..
Piano - choir - Rammstein.. the real classical music of this era!
And.. a new song to add to my 'funeral list'...
dang it.. it's incredible.. what an evolotion this band has made in a couple of years.. it's really unbelievable.. seriously! WELL DONE! It's lyrics are sounding like poetry in my ears!
And what a subject.. about 'time'! Cos, everyone of us could use another bit of time really :)
"Zeit" (Tijd - or TIME in English)
Zeit Bitte, bleib stehen, bleib stehen Zeit Das soll immer so weitergehen
Zeit Bitte, bleib stehen, bleib stehen Zeit Das soll immer so weitergehen Zeit Es ist so schön, so schön Ein jeder kennt Den perfekten Moment
Zeit Bitte bleib stehen, bleib stehen
Zeit Bitte, bleib stehen, bleib stehen Zeit Das soll immer so weitergehen Zeit Es ist so schön, so schön Ein jeder kennt Den perfekten Moment
In the past this meant i'd be doing a little reflection on the past year.. since its already the second of January, i am reinstating this old habit - but here i go..
nothing relevant much really, due do some fever clingin on this world like a b*tch.
Sara's 2021...
Family - love...
Still in love with hubby and the kids T and A!
T already a man of 6 years old..
A already a woman of 4 years old.
a bit of polarization in my family, the family's heavily divided between us with the vaccination shit. yeah, were riding that road too... what doesnt' change is this rollercoaster ride with idiots and fools. Who is right? who is wrong? we'll never know...
House - renovations...
yay! In february 2021 we finally moved back to our house.. yay!
but we still got too much to do, whereas I was expecting it would all be through.. now my fears really do come true - I always thought i wouldn't do any heavy renovations while there are kids running around... too bad - there are kids running around between this shitty renovations... i feel so very sorry for them.
now we are steadily working to the finish line;. although that might be in a couple of years.. (unless we finally win the lottory)
in april 2022 we'll get a new terrace outside.. yay...
too bad it's just we have to choose everytime for one thing and I actually desperately want a room for T.. to have his own place... i sometimes feel a little pity that the kids sleep together in one room.. but i don't know, he doesn't mind too, i think, i guess..
At that rate I guess we're still doing renovations till the kids are in their late teens..
I actually don't want to this anymore.. but hey- am terribly stuck on this coaser for a loooooooong fucking ride still to come..
Sometimes it just feel like a prison or something and then i just want to sell the whole shit, but.. then you think - who will buy this unfinished house in the state it is? We would never get all of our investing back.. so yes. stuck. it is...
work - related....
everything good - own class - own boss - good collegues - the kids are getting crazier by the minute - the parents too.. or could it just be me? :P
I even got a second job now.. y'aaaas.. i'm on payroll baby! :D I work at a (fancy) restaurant as waitress..

Stranger things.. the 4th or was it 5th season? dunno.. corona messed up quite a bit!
Movies in cinemas where not that really much.. off course, filming under corona looks to bit just hard.. but the entertainment buisiness keeps on going nevertheless!!
music and more music....
Youtube still is my best friend nowadays, he just knows what I like to hear.. (my mix)
what songs did I discover?
at the last moment... some nice songs from Moya Brennan!
Yes.. in a cd sale begin december I got myself 5 new cd's!!! :) and a lovely little note from the lady herself! I was just over the moon :D
I really like the harp songs on the cd of 'canvas'... really.. there even is a song that resemblence 'watermark' from her sister Enya just a little bit and I just adore the arrangements with the harp! beautifull :)
In the movie: Sonic the hedgehog.. I also found a cool little music piece.. its the scene where Jim Carrey dances to the tunes of : 'where evil grows'.. allready a song from the 70's.. by the poppy family! Jim Carrey does an excellent job of nailing this scene whatsoever! Good job mr Carrey!
A couple of weeks ago mister music himself died unfortunately, but.. as you know.. music will live forever.. and this man too within his own music!
I got back at choir singing in september, but it finally died somewhere in november due to corona yet again.. so no singing, no songs, no shows no nothing. too bad I think;.. or not?
Looking forward to.. the Coldplay World tour that strikes Belgium in August 2022! Hope it does not get cancelled!!
friendships down the drain...
Yup.. just like the title says..
bad shit that happend.... to me or not to me....

It really is a miracle!
the many deaths of 2021....
On the 10th of January.. our own 'meetje'.. great - grandmother of T and A died... she was the grandmother of Mic.. she died in a nursing home... rip Meetje!
