I do believe in fairytales, i do, i do!

Like this blogtitle, it goes unnoticed that i'm a huge fairytale believer.. (read this is in somewhat sarcastic overtone..)

heck, the whole of this freakking house IS just a fairytale away..

nowhere done, having stress about everthing that still needs to be done.

And yes..

I think in the beginning of this fairytale that it would bé like some sort of dream - my happily ever after... but only 2 years later it's still quite nightmarish.. *sigh*

what to do? Just hang on.. and stay sane.. (and even think about migrating?)

well, I even have a little second job on the hand to pay for this freaking stuff that almost cost an arm and a leg..

And now I'm seriously into ONCE upon a time.. Does it rings any bells? Yes.. it's from netflix.. Yes.. it's about princesses and monsters.. and YES it's quite addictive..

But neverthelesse.. i'm quite bingewatching this show...

AND YOU KNOW WHAT!?

In one scene I was like... 'what a beautifull scene, background.. where on earth did filming take place?! And sure enough - it must be fate or something.. but.. it's CANADA! of ALL PLACES!!

ABC’s hit television show Once Upon a Time primarily films in the Greater Vancouver area in British Columbia, Canada. The seaside village of Steveston transforms into Storybrooke every season, but filming also occurs at different locations all over Vancouver.

Off to go to happyland!

Lets talk about Debi..

Dear Blog...

Looks defenitly like Jason :D

I recently (about 5 min ago) discovered that Jason (the guy who plays Jesse) from Free willy had a freaking stunt double to play..

What was I even thinking for so long (and Im allready 30+) ??!!! NO PARENT WOULD ALLOW THEIR KID being thrown in a huge pool with an orca in it!!!! Although.... any parent would (or just me) would sacrifice myself :D I just considerd their'd be a lot of editing this piece together.. but no, it was Debi all along..

SO YES OFF COURSE there is a  stunt double.. uhuh!!

She is called Debi Derryberry (love that last name) and she shared this on tik tok and twitter about how she performed the famous scene 'being rescued by Keiko'..

https://twitter.com/DebiDerryberry/status/1252651019215032320

At that time she was in her 30ties - acting to be a young boy of 13 years old.. WOw.. And here i am trying to act like i'm still in my twenties, but failing miserably.. :O

Just a little mind blown here!!

More about Debi:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debi_Derryberry & https://www.debiderryberry.com/

She even is a wellknown voiceover actress :)

But off course, it all makes sense..

You see  you'll learn something every day!!

My music pulls me through

Lets all be a little more like Sue, can we?

Lets focus on this star please!

Ladies en gentleglees..

Lets talk about the show I was postponing for years to watch! And finally I did! Yay!!!
Music, Musicals, songs, Choirs... AND SUE SYLVESTER..
If you still don't know what i'm talking about ...
ITS FREAKING
*GLEE*

Thank you world.. for bringing us SUE :D
I just love her wit :)
Sometimes harsh, sometimes a wee bit condescendant..
but funny as hell..

I really like sarcasm in it's pure form.

Great character.. this cheerleader coach...
and to be completely honest..
Wouldn't everyone wants to be a little like Sue? (Just a tiny bit?)

Certain and strong
confidant and brutally honest.

Yes.. Where would I be, if I just was a little bit more of a SUE?
In prison no doubt.. or having a few law suits for sure!

But still..
great show people, great show..
I couldn't help myself and googled everything..
this show ran from 2009 till 2015..
It's ancient!
And btw.. the others are cool too!

A musical about my life... 30+ish..

 Dear Blog..

Tomorrow airs a brand new program on tv called 'a musical about your life'.. it's quite the show with a lot of dance, music and off course a lot of fun...

So, it got me thinking.. which songs represent MY life and wouldn't want to miss in a REAL musical about my life... :D??

Yay...! Ponderings about music.. always good... music that represent MY life? Good question..

I think the period from 1 to 12 are ALL songs from the 90's.. I cannot choose the right one.. But most defenitly some music from the SPICE GIRLS..

Maybe 'SPICEWORLD'..

Macarena, paradisio even the vengaboys, and Alice Deejay ruled my life back then..

Songs between 12 till the age of 18: was all about the discovery of RAMMSTEIN and their smashing hit: SONNE!! I was totally gobsmacked with this group and shaped the rest of me and my life..

The life of a depressing teen, desperate for some love and a bit of recognition that I wasn't destined to be a loner with no love... yep.. depressing times... I will hopefully forget that time very soon now..

Then after I enrolled at the university to become a pre-school teacher, I discovered Irish music... wooow.. that transiation from metal - rock to this was really something.. I loved hearing ENYA (BOADICEA) and through scrolling and gathering information I soon heard about her sister MOYA.. Lovely irish music..

So I think from - 18 till 22.. I would love to hear a softer transition in MY musical.. with soft strings of the lovely harp from MOYA... One song that comes to mind was AN TULL.. (she made with her other band CLANNAD).. AN TULL IS really an upbeat song, with lots of Gaelic (read, quite hard to understand) but still has that lively tune to it.. so it lifts me up from my 'darker ages'...

When I was getting bad grades at University, It plumeted my self esteem.. so I love to hear: I GET KNOCKED DOWN' from thumbawumba.. or even 'I CAN from Nas'.

This was from the age of 22:

I don't know what happend eventually.. but I also came to like songs my mother liked.. so at the end of my studies I got to know MICHAEL.. (my future man to be)..

So lets throw in some old nostalgia with 'SOMETHINGS GOTTEN HOLD OF MY HEART' ( the collaboration between Marc almond and gene pitney)

What next? I cannot choose really.. although I was thinking along the lines of Michael Jackson: The iconic 'CHILDHOOD' or even 'WILL YOU BE THERE'..

And you know.. memories from memorable moments in my life are the births of my 2 kids...

Especially for Thijs: 3js with WIEGELIED.. & FAIRYTALE by ENYA.

Especially for Aurelie: 3js: ZO MOOI ALS JIJ en Kleine superster.. (JAN SMIT)

From the age of 30+ish.. I'm kinda hooked on songs that make me BE young... And I defenitly have a lot of them ...

- Alphaville: Forever YOUNG

-MIKA: WE ARE YOUNG

AND the smashing: FUN: We are young...

I even got my soundtrack for my wedding ready - soon to be in 2025!! :D

On the 4th of April 2025 I will be celebrating 10 years of marriage with a huge party for all my family and friends.

I don't even know what age I will be in 2025.. probably about 30 ish :D

This will be:

THE BEST IS YET TO COME.. from the SCORPIONS!

Hopefully by then I will be getting soms moves from the 'crazy legs' and will be performing a bit of LINDY hop on the rhythm of SING SING SING! (With my HUBBIE)

And a surprise act by ME: I WILL FOLLOW HIM!

But sssssst! Keep it to yourself!

Somewhere inbetween all those songs.. I would love to have some disneysongs as a link between songs.. or is this too much of an ask? Cos Disney still playes a huge part of me.. *sigh*....

WOw.. will be quite a long show!! :D

But still;. I would go check it out! :D

Did you know..

Now i'm watching that 'other' musical show on NETFLIX.. somthing that's called GLEE...

And every epi I think.. why is this not my life??????? :D

Marsupilami .....

dagen, weken ermee in mijn hoofd gezeten...

zotjes..

The muppets.. old skool - really old skool..

 Dear blog..

On VHS tapes I own, my mother used to tape lots of 'the muppet show'.. granted, this show IS incredible good.. but still, it has is famous peeps, but also famous peeps from a decade ago, that aren't famous to me..

In this case.. I present to you:

Bernadette Peters.. (no, not that Bernadette from TBBT)

But this Bernadette:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernadette_Peters

Born in 1948, she must be 73 years old now.. For this particular episode of the Muppetshow: It was released in august 1977.. Thats a way back! Back in the day when old shows like this passed by on the tv.. some stick wit me when watching the tape (somewhere around 1990 and further).. just like this one:

Also this one:

Then this guy.. Dizzy Gillespie:
Mr Gillespie appearde on episode nr 413. (aired in jan. feb 1980)

This performance of the man stuck by:

What can he do with those cheeks huh?!

And last but not least.. someone I do know just over a little bit.. he was at least the most famous one I remembered.. But only this name, records or stuff, no I don't know by heart.. only the name is legendary I guess?

This episode (number 401)  aired: somewhere in september 1979..

John Denver!

But the best memories I have are that one time Mark Hamill and the 'gang' went on the Muppet show...
STAR WARS FAN in da house!!!!
(episode 417 - from 1980)

Ah.. that hit right in the feels.. and i'm not even from that era!! But a few years later..
Now, when it's posted on this blog, it feels justified to throw away those old VHS tapes..

The memory keeps on going!!
Who will see this someday?
Me, probably.. and you too :P

The fighting prince of Donegal...

 Dear blog,

I recently watched this movie.. when examining the VHS to throw away.. (yes.. i'm on the dark side right now) I discovered this title amongst many.. And off course.. Donegal.. a wee place in Ireland.. I just had to watch this movie before I'd toss away  in the bin.. If you can recall.. Donegal IS the place where all the folk and great traditional music is born.. (Enya, Moya, Clannad.. as the famous ones..) AND I visited Donegal in 2008.. (also almost 100 years ago..) with Mic.. And then it hit me again.. It's 13 years ago I last visited Ireland.. WHAT THE HELL HAPPEND??? What it is with time passing by? No. I deny everything... I miss Ireland..

Something about the movie nevertheless:

I was not blown away by it... but it was quite entertaining.. This movie is really old.. it's from 1966.. and this means.. it's almost 100 years old! (nono.. the calculator stated it's only 55) but still..  There aren't any well known actors in this movie (and all the 'Irish' people ARE played by Brits.. (ooh, the horror).. This movie was back in the day made by Disney.. AND i have to say.. Sometimes i got some 'Robin Hood' vibes with this movie.. (when that one was made in 1973, maybe they got the mustard from this one right here)

More about this movie on the HOLY GRAIL: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060408

The lead actor was quite handsome, and the love story in this movie, was quite cute. :)

This movie was loosely based on an Irish man from the 16th Century..

The best scene is that when they sing a cool Irish song.. :D and that's at the end of the movie:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-c3lqpRxqw4

Lots of Irish love..

xx

Keiko.

Mememememe.. (not a meme)

Hey. Its me!
I think about 1,5yold.

about 9 months old?

Xxx
Keiko baby :)

Ohnononono.....

I do not like the way the entertainment business is going.. what's this?
Can't musicians come up with some original stuff anymore? These days people are just recycling some great tunes from the 90's and making 'new' old songs...
(see? the old is back in again!)
A nice example from today being:

It's not that bad.. it has a nice bass to it, something proper for this day and age..

but still.. this is the third song today that has samples of the 90's written all over it!! Dang it..
(I even heard this remix rubbish of Dragostea din tei!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO please!!!) TODAY!

Even WES! Oh dear.. (rest in peace)

Wes died just over a month ago now..

Please bring something original? please? pretty please?
But hey.. can't blame them reliving the 90's.. cos that's the best era ever! (have to agree on that one)

See below for the post about Your love from 9PM till I come aswell..
You know.. remixes must be in I guess.. I even heard a new song featuring the tunes of BLUE (Eiffel 65) and a French song on the tunes of 'WALK on Water (MILK INC)..

On the brigth side.. when I would be looking/searching for ages for the original song, I have now found this in just one minute. Thank you.

YAY it's original! :)

Nightcrawlers - push the feeling on..

Fact*.. back in the day (1995 released accoring to wiki) I was about 10 yo.. And to this day, i rememberd this song to feature a SPOON.. (really..).. So now I really have to find the right lyrics.

(and no it looks like.. the lyrics aren't about spoons whatsoever)

Oh 'n their lives again
Oh 'n their lives will pull us
Oh 'n their lives again
Oh 'n their lives will pull us
Oh 'n their
Bass
Their lives will pull us
In the club with the Henny it's on
Lambrini girls wanna have fun
Jack Daniels puffin' on
Two steppin' know that I'm gone, mad
We don't stop blud 'till we see sun
Hennessy drunk, Vodka and red bull drunk
Bora Bora sun, Bora Bora sun
Sexy show me how you flex it
Are you ready to survive brexit
What will you do for the breakfast
Will you wear the pearl necklace
Will you stop goin' on reckless
Text the ex in Texas
Tell him I am the bestest
And I talk through the walls like Nexus, mad
Oh 'n their lives again
Oh 'n their lives will pull us
Gotta keep movin' on
I need a break, I need a getaway
Need a holiday, need to touch Stanstead on a one-away
Need to hit Gatwick on a one-away
On a one-away, yeah
I need a break, I need a getaway
Need a holiday, need to touch Stanstead on a one-away
Need to hit Gatwick on a one-away
On a one-away, yeah
Hola amigo, soy Big Narstie amigo
I'm MJ, never been Tito
I'm Don Vito, you're a soft drink
You're a mojito
You suck you mosquito
Iceberg history
Hit the swag with a splash of Moschino
Nightcrawler, you know how we roll
Oh 'n their lives again
Oh 'n their lives will pull us
Gotta keep movin' on
Gotta keep movin' on
Their lives will pull us

You know what.. I predict in the near future a song released from the smashing hit 'stereo love' from the old days.. MARK MY WORDS. I'm a modern f*king musical Nostradamus.

A long, long time ago, I can still remember....

Dear blog...

A long, long time ago

I can still remember how that (insert cool thing - suggest - music - memory or whatefs)
Used to make me smile...
We go back to the magic year of 1993 - the 26th of February.. I was a wee lass of 8 years and I went to see my first ... Disney on ice!! :D
the first of many...
I went with Aunt Mietje.. (an old friend of my dads)
I do not remember a lot of this event itself except for a couple of pictures that are excisting, but a couple of days (months maybe?) our public tv station decided to broadcast the whole show AND I taped the whole thing! =) And I remember most of that recording!
I still have the recording on a VHS tape and i haven't found it (as of today) this show of 1993.. :) Maybe I will post a little footage of me filming a scene from this..
The best thing I still remember were the 'good looks' of Peter Pan himself.. and of course the flying was so spectacular..
The next year I went to see 'Beauty and the Beast on ice' also with her.. and then a gazillion years later I went with Elien and Natalie to see 'disney on ice - princess edition' (somewhere between 2010 and 2013)... Love it love it!!

These were the badges for entering .. VIP style!

I remember I got a poster that hung a long time in my room.. Still to this day, I love the story of Peter Pan.

The booklet..

Inside the booklet..

Inside of the booklet..

So.. Where are they now?
In true 'catfish'style I went on a search (or investigation - more or less more CSI STYLE) for these figure skaters and wondered if they are still skating somewhere over the rainbow..

Let's start of with 'Peter - JAIMEE EGGLETON - Pan'. This goodlooking fella.. at that time he resembled quite my dad.. maybe it's true what they say about men, you find somewhat something that eventually resembles y'er dad.. glad the looks worked out! (and not the personality)

But not much info unfortunately:
I found a wiki pedia article: (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaimee_Eggleton)
- he's from 1964 - being about 29 when he played peter pan in 1993.. (being 57 nowadays) But research show this particular show started in 1990.
- I found a couple of YT vids from the 1980's.. (who even posts this stuff on YT?)
- he's canadian.
- Won a couple of medailles between 1984 and 1986.
- found a couple of articles on google - (from that time and era! What a surprise)
but nothing really much about where abouts - nowadays...
there are just to many spellings about this name.. even the Olympic page suggest it's jaimie.. ahwell..
he disappeared from the face of the earth .. OR he's just that will hidden far away from social media! WELL DONE.

Next one.. DAWN Porter (who played Wendy Darling)
- There are a lot of Dawn Porters in the world.. but I think I might have found the one.

- I found a recent place of work :) And I will leave it to that.. :)
She manages a trampoline park ://rockinjump.com/palmdale/
How cool is that!!
Why hasn't this flown over to Europe allready!?

Next one on the line..
DAVID BROWNE (Captain hook)

- fact.. There are a plenty of David Browne's in this world :)
- Oh Gosh.. I just found an Obituary for mr Browne.. that's so sad.. he died almost a year ago..https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/buffalonews/name/david-browne-obituary?id=4877778
what unfortunate news.. :s
- he stayed quite long under the wings of Disney on ice.. first as a performer - then as a manager..
- May he rest in peace..

Next on
Christopher Shrimpling
- I found a facebookpage and a small article about him:

The upbeat 40-year-old worked for Disney for 14 years, touring the world as a figure skater.

“I’m originally from Middlesborough,” said Chris, “but I love living in Scotland and this weather is great.

“With extreme conditions, you might as well enjoy the ride and make the most of what you have. I’ve worked in temperatures below -40ºC so this is mild. The cafe and factory have been open throughout the cold spell and I just thought I would bring my skates into work with me.”

Chris had not skated since 2001, when he finally hung up his boots at Disney, but after closing the cafe one evening – and much to the surprise of Stuart Crystal staff, dog walkers and passing motorists – he once more took to the ice for an impromptu performance in the Muthill Road car park. He is more used to performing in front of 10,000-strong audiences but his mini-exhibition earned him a perfect 10 from factory staff who had gathered at the tea room window to watch him spinning, jumping and twirling on the ice. And finding he had not lost any of his old skills – although he says he probably won’t be performing triples any more – Chris decided to make his way to Lake of Menteith on Sunday."

Interesting fact:
The producer of this show: Kenneth Feld.. has a very nice website with lots of productions his company ever produced! Still now - to this day :)

Oh man.. that sure felt a little like stalking.. i'm a wee bit uncomfertable right now... sorry peeps for intruding!!
I even found this facebookpage.. i know why: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1736532523284977

PS: FACT:
It must be a million years ago i last went skating on an actual icerink.. I have till this date never took michael out to the ice rink.. the only one nearest to be KRISTALLIJN in GhENT
And i often went there with my dad..

Trippen met de kids...

Dag blog..

MUSE - The Void ~ The Planets..

Dear Blog...
found another gem today..
I was quite surprised this one's by MUSE.. one my lesser know favorite bands.. but hey..

I started watching 'the Planets'.. And this intro jumps up.. it otherwordly and so fitting this series about our solar system... It's hauntingly beautifull..

Well done Brian Cox...

More info @ https://www.bbcearth.com/shows/the-planets ....

Here are the lyrics...

They'll say, no one can see us

That we're estranged and all alone They believe nothing can reach us And pull us out of the boundless gloom

They're wrong They're wrong They're wrong Yeah baby, they're wrong They're wrong They're wrong

They'll say the sun is dying And the fragile can't be saved And the cold, it will devour us And we won't rise up and slay giants

They're wrong They're wrong They're wrong Yeah baby, they're wrong They're wrong They're wrong

It takes a leap of faith To awake from these delusions You are the coder and avatar A star

They'll say, no one will find us That we're estranged and all alone They believe nothing can reach us And pull us out of the boundless gloom

They're wrong They're wrong They're wrong Babe they're wrong They're wrong They're wrong

Space out peeps...

Dear people, you suck. Sincerly me.

Why is it....that everytime i want to give my oppinion about something.. i am treated badly. I just want to say honestly (and mostly brutal) how I think bout things... (gee :P a dadi reference) and now i have this feeling i am about to explode cos its precisly i don't have a say in.. Like .. my oppinion doesn't really matter.. and I'm quite unhappy (even mad) about this. Why why why is it people are allowed to just walk over me/or even us???
Is this being a grow up really means? To be walked over by younger (dumb) people??

Is this the story of my life?
Looks like it.
Fuck it. Why arent we not in Canada yet..? (yes i still have the grass-is-greener-in-canada-virus thats the one treathening my life nowadays)

No love from me this time.
Mind you. I'm a very bitter lady who got no life (apparently) and is not allowed to give feedback/comments to noone. (That too apparently) and it defenitly looks like i got no respect for anyone anymore. Ohyeah did i mentioned i must be severing from an acute case of jalousy? That must be why am i so mad at people. And sorry hubby.. but sometimes you too
And just like my mother would do.. cover up all those feelings with a blanket of kindness and never hear of sprak of it again..
Great... i must be the fuck up..

And i'm not telling ANYONE.. accept my own peeps offcourse :P

You can see it, when i'm dead.

I'm sorry T and A... i'm not a rolemodel no more..

The past few weeks in Eurovision land..

 A quote I cannot unsee:

I mean.. this quote is actually the title of the song that Bulgaria contributed to the EUROVISION SONG CONTEST..

GROWING UP is GETTING OLD...

And.. ain't it the darn truth???

More on eurovision: in a nutshell:

- great show - hosted by the Netherlands..

- Revelation of the year: Presenter of ESC Nikkie - from youtube.. a really welcome surprise and a 'surplus' on the whole shazam.. she outglamoured all the rest of them presenters.. really!

- Italy won.... by a longshot.. wasn't even in my top 15..

- My favorites - Switzerland and Iceland where in the top 5.. did not win.. pffff..

- Iceland had to 'drop' out cause of ALLERGIES.. (I mean - Corona) and got to a 4th place with only rehearsel material.. REHEARSEL MATERIAL! Damn.

- Belgium did a 'booboo' again.. sending Hooverphonic - but hey.. we WERE in the finals!

- The UK got NOTHING - not a single point.. (that was nasty)

- A lot of nice songs this year too!

- I finally watched - Eurovision: The story of Fire SAGA

ESC: see you next year!!! :)

RIP Eric Carle... aka mister The very hungry caterpillar..

Sad news from the children's authors world..

Eric Carle - father of the hungry caterpillar and many many many other childrens books has passed away a couple of days ago at the blessed age of 91..

As stated on his facebookpage:

From the Eric Carle Team: It is with heavy hearts that we share that Eric Carle, author and illustrator of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and many other beloved classics, passed away on Sunday, May 23rd at the age of 91.
When asked why he thinks The Very Hungry Caterpillar has remained popular for so long, Carle said, “I think it is a book of hope. Children need hope. You, little insignificant caterpillar can grow up into a beautiful butterfly and fly into the world with your talent.”
Thank you, Eric Carle for sharing your great talent with so many generations of young readers

He will always be rememberd and will be never forgotten.. daily kindergartenteachers from all over the world use his books to tell stories to all (small) ages.. He will be amongst those other great passed away authors.. like Dick Bruna (from Nijntje - Miffy) who i also very much love..

Thank you mr Carle - for your mark on this world. You did great.

Songs stuck in my head...

 This one..

the WHOLE FREAKING MORNIN'.....

Why do i have a feeling this is some rip off from a Disney song?? (I mean.. a disney song inspired by this?)

Wow.. too much overthinking these days..

Wait for it.. Someday I will find a disney song that resembles this song.

===>>>> EDIT...
What about this disney song?

A wee bit no?

Do you have a moment to talk about... Joe Lycett?

 Oh yes please do!

I adore Joe.. you know!

He's absolutely funny as hell.

Some background on him..

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Lycett

I love his sense of style, his comedic timing, well just everything!

He is just hilarious!

I recently watched some clips on the Youtube.. even a whole show.

I have to say, in all he does, he's quite original..

even in naming his own shows..

"that's the way, Joe Lycett".. (see what he did there?)

Or - "I'm about to loose control and I think Joe Lycett" :D

He also tries to defend the 'little men'.. in his other show; "Joe Lycett has your back" he defends the regular (wo)man.. the consumers problems.. but in his own way.. he takes on the rather F*Up system.. scammers - and so on..

He is also quite legendary in writing emails.. Would love to learn a thing or two of writing funny, catchy, state of the art -laughinyourface- emails. Sigh.. :D

So yes.. this post is dedicated to this great guy..

He's among those other famous funny peeps like.. Graham Norton.

Well..

I actually only know a few ones..

- Alex Agnew and Wouter Deprez are my favs too. (Belgian comedians)

And you know..

the world can use a lot of laughter these days..

Comedy is on my list of must-haves!

Hubbie can be quite the comedian too.. that's what I love about him!

And now.. some memes to end this rather comedic post :P

Would love to have some translation on that!
I think it's quite a thing this 'doth butter no parsnips'.. just like: TGIF ? maybe :P

Love..

My obsession with movies and VHS..

 Dear blog..

Put your hands up for...
THE VHS CASSETTE!!

This post is all about VHS..

And no.. thank god, i have never found any porno on those cassettes! But man.. mysteries where there to be solved!!

And yes.. I have found out about them all! WHAAHAHAAH!!

Back in the day I was a huge movie nerd.. (still, but I toned down a little)

I even collected VHS movies off ALLLL sorts of genres. I bought a lot too, but also recorded many many many movies..

I checked every unmarked cassette (even the ones from my grandparents) and just had to label 'em all.. I felt a huge satisfaction doing this.. I was pleased with the end result.. (even on sick days, i can remember, I was playing VHS cassettes and marking them every time I saw something new)

It got so far, I even put a system in my cassettes, giving them each one a number, that I would write down in my huge binder (not that huge) with all movies (Classified with genre)

YES I was a WANNABE - video rental store... and my closest friends, came around and got some VHS :D Cool huh? Sometimes I do love a little administration :D

And now.. in this day and age of Internet - Youtube - DVD's and other shit.. I had to make the difficult choice of throwing most of them away (or even get as stupid and try to sell them :P)

I must say.. I own a very large amount of Disney cassette (also the U versions of some -meaning only English- and just a lot a lot alot.. I think about 50.. I am nog planning on getting rid of those.. That's my entire childhood right there!

Some of my favourite (recorded) cassettes are still here and going to stay.. an example right here..

The Splash one I recorded a gazillion years ago.. (I think I was about 9, when I first saw it too!)

And this one..

Cassette number 21.. one of my favs.. and it looks like, I did not watch the whole cassette, bu only the endings I loved more..

What is on it?

*Peter Pan on ICE.. and I mean.. I got some great memories about this!! I went to see it, with Aunt Mietje! I was about 8 years old.. I remember something about 1994.. I went to see this and I remember not much of the actual day, but more of the video broadcasting from back then.. (I was a little in love with Peter Pan that day.. he was such a handsome man)

*Beauty and the Beast on Ice.. And yes! I have been to that one too!!! :D loved it..

*The bunny tales (by Jim Henson) .. I did not watch this too often, cos it was too dificult too understand.. HURRAY for YT.. cos it has it all!!

This is the original piece.. from 1986!

Off course.. my long time favourite cartoon from Disney.. but I had it in French..

*Le petit Maison..

Still quite accurate!

Then my AAAAAL time favourite!
*The 2 episodes of 'de Verjaardagsdraak'.... (meaning the birthday dragon).. after a quick search I found info about these.. I loved it.. cos I am a big fan of dragons.. (thank you pete's dragon!)

The birthdaydragon (1992) was in Dutch on tv and was the sequel to 'the railway dragon' (1989 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0180078/?ref_=tt_trv_cnn ) which I also had on the VHS cassette..

Have fun with the movies!

*Next on the list. were a couple of the Little mermaid episodes..
LOVE LOVE LOVE Ariel!!!
And so does my kid :D
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED..

*But the cherry on top.. must be...
THE CAREBEARS!!
Thats a huge one!!!
Defenitly.
I just ADORE those bears!!!
I even collected them all.. (thank you carnival fair in Deinze)

I recorded one movie (The Care bears movie I)  some time ago on this VHS cassette.. too bad it wasn't fully recorded.. cos I ran out of VHS space..
But still :)
My adoration went far, cos I bought the other 'Care bear movies'.. on VHS and I still got them.. LOOOOVE it!
(but more importantly.. My kids love it too!! And that beats freakking PAW PATROL!)

But.. Who are the carebears?

Care Bears are a fictional group of multi-colored bear characters, originally painted in 1981 by artist Elena Kucharik to be used on greeting cards from American Greetings but in 1983, the characters were turned into plush teddy bears.

The characters headlined their own television series called Care Bears from 1985 to 1988. They also made three feature films: The Care Bears Movie (1985), Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation (1986), and The Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland (1987).

Each Care Bear is a different color and has a special "belly badge" that represents its personality. Adding to the Care Bear family is the "Care Bear Cousins", which feature a lion, rabbit, penguin, raccoon, monkey, elephant, pig, snakes, dog, cat, and horse created in the same style as the Care Bears.

Just.. sending all my love to.. (in Dutch) Troetelland... (CARE - A - LOT)

No such luck on finding the movies on YT...  Unfortunatly.. But here are some movie trailers :D

And my favorite song!

From 1985... You see!? All great things come from 1985!!

Movie trailer from Care bears the movie II

They are just soooo cudly and cute and more :D...
