THE NATION of good tv for children.. lets think off: The adventures of Skippy, Genies down under, the girl from tomorrow, even Spellbinder and many more.. and off course.. who wouldn't love Australia? the country to go, by far the best one.. too bad it's the on the other side of the planet.. d'oh!!) And nowadays.. i'm following Neighbours too.. Love the Aussie accent!! :) I defenitly want to go there someday.. (and first thing to do.. visit Split Point Lighthouse! The location of most Roundthetwist episodes..Round the Twist is a Logie Award-winning Australian children's television series about three children and their widowed father who live in a lighthouse and become involved in many magical adventures.
Only four series were made despite the show having an eleven year run. The first two series were based on fantasy stories written by author Paul Jennings; the latter two were based on a variety of authors' work. Its first series was made in 1989. A second series, with many roles re-cast, was made in 1992. A third series, again re-cast, was made in 1999, followed by a fourth (with some roles again re-cast) in 2000.
The show's distinctive theme song, with the lyrics "have you ever... ever felt like this?..." was sung by Tamsin West, who played the lead female role of Linda in the first series. It borrowed lines from popular nursery rhymes such as "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly", "Humpty Dumpty" and "Rain Rain Go Away".
Many external scenes were shot around the region of the Split Point Lighthouse in Aireys Inlet, Victoria, Australia.
Making a show about children which spanned more than a decade meant many changes in actors were required, as the child actors became too old for their parts. Overall, three sets of children (the Twists, the Gribbles and Fiona) were cast. Additionally, all of the major adult roles were recast at least once: overall, there were two Tonys, two Nells, three Fays, two Mr Gribbles, and three Matron Gribbles across the series' run..

The project
The goal of this project is to allow people to receive postcards from all over the world, for free. Well, almost free! The main idea is that: if you send a postcard, you will receive one back from a random Postcrosser from somewhere in the world.
Why? Because, like the author, there are lots of people who like to receive real mail.
The element of surprise of receiving postcards from different places in the world (many of which you probably have never heard of) can turn your mailbox into a box of surprises - and who wouldn't like that? How does it work?
First, the short version:
The first step is to request to send a postcard. The website will display (and send you an e-mail) with the address of another member and a Postcard ID (e.g.: US-786). You then mail a postcard to that member.
The member receives the postcard and registers it using the Postcard ID that is on the postcard. At this point, you are eligible to receive a postcard from another user. Youare now in line for the next person that requests to send a postcard. Where the postcard comes from is a surprise!
You can have up to 5 postcards traveling at any single time. Every time one of the postcards you send is registered, you can request another address. The number of postcards allowed to travel at any single time goes up the more postcards you send!

(Zwarte Piet) He tags alone with a huuuge bag with gifts and toys :DHERENTALS - Hij troefde alle Amerikanen af in een discipline waarin zij nochtans de besten zijn: ‘westernrijden' of ‘reining'. Bernard Fonck werd donderdagavond in Oklahoma City voor de derde keer op rij wereldkampioen in die aartsmoeilijke dressuuroefening. ‘Mensen denken dat we een hobbyclubje van cowboys en indianen zijn, terwijl dit echt topsport is.'
‘Bernard Fonck heeft geschiedenis geschreven', kopte de websiteWesternToday gisteren. In het land van de stars en stripes reed de jonge vader uit Herentals donderdagavond – plaatselijke tijd – alle Amerikanen op een hoopje en kaapte zo voor hun neus de wereldtitel ‘Westernrijden' weg. Al voor de derde keer op rij. ‘Ik heb geluk gehad: mijn paard had een uitstekende dag', zegt hij ietwat bescheiden. En dan na lang aandringen: ‘Uiteraard is dit fantastisch, dit is ongezien voor een Belg. Bovendien blijft de titel in de familie. Vier jaar geleden deed mijn vrouw het mij voor.'
Cowboys en indianenDie echtgenote, Ann Poels (32), is ook de reden waarom hij tien jaar geleden in de ruitersport is gesukkeld. ‘Ik had een groothandel in vlees, maar heb die moeten verkopen omdat ik een hernia kreeg. Met acht bouten in mijn rug werd die job te zwaar. Gelukkig kon ik gaan werken in haar manege. Dankzij Ann is ook bij mij de passie voor reininggegroeid.'
Reining is een discipline die in Amerika ontstaan is en bij ons nauwelijks bekend is. Als er al eens beelden van happenings opduiken, stralen ze – met hun hoog rodeogehalte – eerder folklore uit. ‘Nochtans zijn we geen hobbyclubje van cowboys en indianen, zoals heel wat mensen denken. Oké, ik zie er misschien wel zo uit, en het hoort er ook bij, maar dit is echt wel topsport.'
De snelheid waarmee alle onderdelen worden uitgevoerd, ligt een pak hoger dan bij een klassieke dressuuroefening. Langzame kleine en grote snelle cirkels, vliegende gallopwissels, pirouettes vanop dezelfde plek ( spins ) en bruusk remmen (sliding stops ) worden in een razend tempo afgewisseld. ‘Ondanks mijn schijnbaar ontspannen houding – ik lijk de teugels losjes in handen te hebben – is het een zware en competitieve sport. Zowel voor mezelf als voor mijn paard.'
Quarantaine‘Sail On Top Whizard', zoals Bernards kampioen heet, moest in quarantaine voor de wedstrijd. Eerst drie dagen in New York, en daarna 28 uur in Oklahoma City. ‘De Amerikaanse dienst voor Volksgezondheid is heel streng. Paarden die worden overgevlogen uit Europa mogen geen ziektes verspreiden, dus alles wordt dubbel gecheckt. Al was het best triestig, de hengst kon geen kant meer op. En ik kon niets doen.' Daarna werd het nog zwaarder. ‘Om de piste gewoon te worden, moesten we 's nachts trainen, een week lang. Het is een wonder dat we het gehaald hebben.'
En hoe. Bernard werd gehuldigd en opgenomen in de galerij der groten: sinds gisteren mag hij zich officieel een Million Dollar -ruiter noemen. Zo behoort hij tot een select clubje van amper zeventien ruiters wereldwijd, die al 1 miljoen dollar – oftewel 768.00 euro – aan prijzengeld bij elkaar reden. ‘Dat is ongezien. Zeker omdat ik nog maar tien jaar bezig ben.'
‘Wat ik daarvoor krijg? Een mooi schilderij, met mijn beeltenis op en een speciale vest met een Million Dollar -badge. Waar al dat geld naartoe gaat? Naar de eigenaar van het paard, ook een Belg. Ik krijg gewoon een loon uitbetaald. Maar het is me echt niet om de centen te doen, maar wel om de eer.'
Zondag keert hij terug naar het Italiaanse Alessandria, waar hij met zijn vrouw, zijn dochter Jody (7) en zoontje Justin (7 maanden) woont. Ze trainen er ranchpaarden. Nu al droomt Bernard van de rust daar, die hij dubbel en dik verdiend heeft. ‘Weet je wat ik super vind? Op mijn vrije dag in de wei gaan zitten en kijken naar de veulens: zien hoe ze rennen, spelen, slapen en zichtbaar tevreden zijn. Dat is voor mij het toppunt van geluk.'
