And now.. the end is near..

As Frank Sinatra used to say.. And now the end is near.. and so I face the final curtain..
Whole of humanity is just doooomed!!! Some doomsdaybelievers stronly believe that the Mayas has foretold.. that on the 21th of December the world has come to an end..
So to join this final episode of my life.. I have lived a life.. full of .. what exactly? Not really something to put down in just wee hours to countdownt till midnight.. I would have to think of that very thourougly! :P
So.. I would look at this hoax like Axe did it and say to all.. Happy end to the world.. Hope there will be another one.. filled with everything is has now and Internet too probably. (I guess the internet is just like the coakroach.. and will stay around.. even if the biggest shit happend to us!)..

Happy end of the world! (as Axe has put it.. :D)

Aside all the ladies at the end of this commercial by Axe.. I really like it :P.. it's funny!!

Byebye! See you on the other side :)

Drama in the US..

Dear Blog..

Just yesterday a human shooter threathend the lives of 600 young students at an Elementary school in the US.. 26 were killed, 20 of them just 10 year olds.. innocent lives.. why? Lives who will never see the future, cos their lives are destroyed and will never grow up and see what beatifull world we have.

As a kindergartenteacher working in an nearby elementary school, it also affects me.. Could this ever happen to us? I hope very much not.

Now I would like to spare of thought, a moment to think of the lost souls and pray with the parents who will only see their children again in the next life.. I would like to think about the survivors and how their lives are changed now by this one cruel day.. It's just a sad sad day....

My thoughts are with you all..
Today i enlight a candle to give you all strenght and hope.. that it will never ever happens again..

Love.. hope.. finding the right words..

Round ... The Twist!!

Dear Blog..

Today's post is about another favorite show, I liked when I was a kid.. Well.. I still do actually..
It's a show called: Round the Twist! It's an Australian kids tvshow from the (yes you know it..) 90's!!
And offcourse.. everything from the 90's was/IS good :D
The first thing I ever saw on tv.. I still remember the first time :P was a piece of the 'Spaghetti Pug Out episode (season 1) I've must have been around 10 years old or a bit younger..  I think it was even broadcasted on the BBC back then..
The thing I remembered from that episode was the story about the remote control.. and a Spaghetti 'party', where you'd have to eat lots and lots of spaghettig to win the contest.. With the use of the remote control you could speed up the eating contestants or slowing down.... or the other one.. where Linda gets a mysterious hat where she had the ability to fly!! Good good good..
When this show was first broadcasted in Belgium I recognised the characters and was pleasantly surprised by this show :) I thought it beeing really cool at that time :D.. I think I was already in my teen years when they showed it on Ketnet TV..

Ahwell.. heres the story about Round the Twist.. (I must say.. THE NATION of good tv for children.. lets think off: The adventures of Skippy, Genies down under, the girl from tomorrow, even Spellbinder and many more..  and off course.. who wouldn't love Australia? the country to go, by far the best one.. too bad it's the on the other side of the planet.. d'oh!!) And nowadays.. i'm following Neighbours too.. Love the Aussie accent!! :) I defenitly want to go there someday.. (and first thing to do.. visit Split Point Lighthouse! The location of most Roundthetwist episodes..

What does Wikipedia says?
Round the Twist is a Logie Award-winning Australian children's television series about three children and their widowed father who live in a lighthouse and become involved in many magical adventures.
Only four series were made despite the show having an eleven year run. The first two series were based on fantasy stories written by author Paul Jennings; the latter two were based on a variety of authors' work. Its first series was made in 1989. A second series, with many roles re-cast, was made in 1992. A third series, again re-cast, was made in 1999, followed by a fourth (with some roles again re-cast) in 2000.
The show's distinctive theme song, with the lyrics "have you ever... ever felt like this?..." was sung by Tamsin West, who played the lead female role of Linda in the first series. It borrowed lines from popular nursery rhymes such as "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly", "Humpty Dumpty" and "Rain Rain Go Away".
Many external scenes were shot around the region of the Split Point Lighthouse in Aireys InletVictoriaAustralia.
Making a show about children which spanned more than a decade meant many changes in actors were required, as the child actors became too old for their parts. Overall, three sets of children (the Twists, the Gribbles and Fiona) were cast. Additionally, all of the major adult roles were recast at least once: overall, there were two Tonys, two Nells, three Fays, two Mr Gribbles, and three Matron Gribbles across the series' run..
I will make a quick review.. from the main characters of this show. about the Pete's, the Linda's and the Bronsons of every season.. In the olden days I was huge fan of the Pete's of the show.. I was (at that time) really into guys with blonde 'cool' hair, blue eyes and who were handsome :P.. Especially Rian McLean from Season 3 and 4.. I soooo had a crush on him... Now i'm totally over him :P
Played in series one: (from 1989) (Where are they now?)
Pete Twist: Played by Sam Vandenberg (1974) (pictured as a kid..) Web says: is not only found on stage as lead guitarist and vocalist with his 80s cover band, 80s Enough, but also works behind the scenes as manager and co-ordinator to a number of different Melbourne cover bands.
Played in one more tvshow in 1995: Blue Healers..

Linda Twist: Played by Tamsin West: (1974)
Not much to find on the first hand on the web.. It looks like she persued a career in music.. more into covers and son on..
and she has one child.
Played in Neighbours: 1991

Bronson Twist: Played by Rodney Mclennan (1979)
IMDB says he joined the army in 1997..
Played in Neighbours: 1991

Played in SEASON 2: aired in 1992
Pete Twist: Played by Ben Thomas: (Gosh, there are a gazillion Ben Thomasses in the world!!)
Not much too find on the net!
Played in Neighbours in 1993
Linda Twist: Played by Joelene Crnogorac (1979)
Played in numerous series: Ocean Girl, Snowy River 'The Mcgregor Saga', Blue Heelers and so on..
Even played an episode on Neighbours: 2008.. (nope.. I do not recognise her.. and I'm watching Neighbours since... 2007??)
I thought she really was a beatifull kid back then, but she still looks good!

Bronson Twist: Played by Jeffrey Walker (1982)
Played in numerous series: Ocean girl, Snowy River, Mirror, mirror, and his show from 2007: Spy Shop.
lastest news: he's Trained as a Production Assistant with Jonathan M Shiff Productions (who made "Ocean Girl" & "Thunderstone").. aka: THE man of Australia :D
Didnt' play at neighbours though :P

So.. were up to our final pete, Linda and Bronson.. Luckely Season 3 and 4.. had the same persons playing the characters :) Oef!
Played in SEASON 3 and 4: Aired in 1999 and 2000.

Pete Twist played by Rian McLean. (1984)
Oooh.. he dyed his hair black! (for Home and away) or maybe he was allready dark? and had to dy his hair Blonde :P..
Played in Neighbous in 2003.

Linda Twist played by Ebonnie Masini (1984)
A few appearances in some tv shows..
On the picture it's supposed to be the left girl :)
I think I even found her on FB.. and it states she's married now.. :)

Bronson Twist played by Matthew Waters (1989)
Really did many, many austrialian tvshows.. (such as: Blue healers, the escape of the artfull dodger, even a part in Peter Pan.. (you know? the best peter pan movie there is!?) According to IMDB he's more into musicals nowadays..

What's really peculiar about this info i'm looking up..
Everyone, like every Aussie star that came on tv, they all come together in other series.. not always on the same time or whatever.. but they cross over to other shows... and it's like Disney always said.. 'it's a small world'.. They all tend to get into other shows and so on.. You catch my wave bro? :P

Although Australia is a huge country.. (okay.. not every inch of Australia is covered with people).. maybe there are nut much australian actors.. or the Australians recycle good :P? Maybe.. Australia does that with people.. I know lots of them actors who made it to Hollywood! I'm thinking about the great Nicole Kidman and even the handsome Hugh Jackman.. Let's face it peeps.. Austrialia has the best actors ever? .

One example to explain my 'upper text'.. (this is why i love IMDB sooo much!)

I looked up Mathew Waters.. looks like he did a show called 'Blue water High (2006) .. what did i found more? That even James Sorensen went up there before he did his big appearance on Neighbours as 'Declan Napier'.. and beautifull Cariba Heine.. was a member of blue water high before H20 just add water? (yet another GREAT tvshow for kids.. teens maybe :D) Wow.. 2 loves combined in one! About mermaids and Australia! It can't get any better then this!!

In the meanwhile.. i'm drifting away.. like very bad.. So to get back on topic... what was it again? Ohjeah! Round the twist!! :)

Now just for you..
The 2 episodes I've mentioned up above in my little intro there..

Round the twist: Spaghetti Pug out: from Season 1.

Round the twist: Copycat: from Season 2 (it's just the first part)

The cool themesong from Round the twist.. 'Have you ever.. ever felt like this?'.. Good to know.. the themesong is sung by Tamsin West.. the original Linda from season 1.. They kept it like this for all 4 seasons

I leave you with the notes to the song..:

Have you ever, ever felt like this,
When strange things happen,
Are you going round the twist?

Have you ever, ever felt like this,
When strange things happen,
Are you going round the twist?

Well have you heard the word about the bird and the spider?
It wiggled and wiggled and jiggled inside her.

Have you ever, ever felt like this,
When strange things happen,
Are you going round the twist?

Have you ever, ever felt like this,
When strange things happen,
Are you going? Are you going round the twist

Conclusion: A good tv show.. and most important.. it's really timeless!

I just wonder.. would they ever be another series made?? Hope so :)

Look what i've just discovered!!
Looks like a veeeery cool website!!
A perfect fit! I'm nostalgic, AND I was kid in the 90's!!

Postcrossing..

Just seen about 5 minutes ago on MAGAZINSKI..

An idea.. maybe i'll join it too..

It's called Postcrossing.. and it loos like a really fun thing to do!!

This is what it saids on the website: (www.postcrossing.com/about)

The project

The goal of this project is to allow people to receive postcards from all over the world, for free. Well, almost free! The main idea is that: if you send a postcard, you will receive one back from a random Postcrosser from somewhere in the world.
Why? Because, like the author, there are lots of people who like to receive real mail.
The element of surprise of receiving postcards from different places in the world (many of which you probably have never heard of) can turn your mailbox into a box of surprises - and who wouldn't like that?

How does it work?

First, the short version:
  1. request an address from the website
  2. mail the postcard to the address
  3. wait to receive a postcard
  4. register the received postcard in the system
The first step is to request to send a postcard. The website will display (and send you an e-mail) with the address of another member and a Postcard ID (e.g.: US-786). You then mail a postcard to that member.
The member receives the postcard and registers it using the Postcard ID that is on the postcard. At this point, you are eligible to receive a postcard from another user. Youare now in line for the next person that requests to send a postcard. Where the postcard comes from is a surprise!
You can have up to 5 postcards traveling at any single time. Every time one of the postcards you send is registered, you can request another address. The number of postcards allowed to travel at any single time goes up the more postcards you send!

Just follow these steps :)
  1. Request an address and a Postcard ID
  2. Mail the postcard to that address
  3. Receive a postcard from another postcrosser!
  4. Register the Postcard ID you have received
  5. Go to number 1 to receive more postcards!

Spread the good word/letter around!!!! :)

See more at their site ... -->> http://www.postcrossing.com/

I think i'm signing up!!! You too?

XSara

EDIT::: I just signed up!!! Now.. lets buy some postcards :D

Fabian - Abracadabra (Junior Eurosong 2012)

Dear Blog..

Tonite's the night of the Junior eurovisioncontest 2012.. and this year Belgium promoted with this song: Abracadabra sung by Fabian. (see below)

I must admit I like this song alot.. it has a nice tune/melody to it.. The lyrics in Dutch are just very original..
I'm just blown away by his choice of words! Did a 14 year old boy made this? I'm really impressed! When I was 14 I still played with Barbies!!
That's why i'm no big fan of the Junior Eurovison songcontest .. (huge fan of the Eurovision song contest sitting right in front of you..) but the childrensversion? No. Why not, you think?.. I just can't approve the way children are put in the position of grown ups.. Let them be children.. okay, maybe they CAN sing, act, dance or whatsoever.. but why can't we wait till theire grownups?? The pressure it all brings too young children at sometimes tender ages.. I think that's just sad. Sad we're promoting children as mini - grownups where big business can get money out, as they are like donkey's shitting gold (pardon my writing here :))
When they're 18, it's all over for them and they also have to face the bad bad world, work, earn money, forget how to be children.. so please let them be children, for as long as it can :)..
That's my opinion :) thank you for reading :D
I'm 27 and i'm young at heart too.. will I ever grow - up? Maybe when I've got children of my own.. that will be the day I finally will grow up.

In the meanwhile you can enjoy the song from Fabian..
xxSara

And the best cowboy of the world is.. Bernard Fonck!

Dear Blog..

Who knew.. the best Cowboy of the whole world.. is actually Belgian? (like me :D)
I just read it in our local newspaper (Nieuwsblad) he just blow away the American compitition..and took the world title together with his horse: 'Sail On Top Whizard'.
Aaaaaauch America! That's quite a pun there..
All credits goes to this guy!! Thank you for putting Belgium on a map here :) Congratulations!!

Quote Nieuwsblad: (dutch magazin)

Eerst drie dagen in New York, en daarna 28 uur in Oklahoma City.
