The muppets.. old skool - really old skool..

 Dear blog..

On VHS tapes I own, my mother used to tape lots of 'the muppet show'.. granted, this show IS incredible good.. but still, it has is famous peeps, but also famous peeps from a decade ago, that aren't famous to me..

In this case.. I present to you:

Bernadette Peters.. (no, not that Bernadette from TBBT)

But this Bernadette:

Born in 1948, she must be 73 years old now.. For this particular episode of the Muppetshow: It was released in august 1977.. Thats a way back! Back in the day when old shows like this passed by on the tv.. some stick wit me when watching the tape (somewhere around 1990 and further).. just like this one:

Also this one:

Then this guy.. Dizzy Gillespie:
Mr Gillespie appearde on episode nr 413. (aired in jan. feb 1980)

This performance of the man stuck by:

What can he do with those cheeks huh?!

And last but not least.. someone I do know just over a little bit.. he was at least the most famous one I remembered.. But only this name, records or stuff, no I don't know by heart.. only the name is legendary I guess?

This episode (number 401)  aired: somewhere in september 1979..

John Denver!

But the best memories I have are that one time Mark Hamill and the 'gang' went on the Muppet show...
STAR WARS FAN in da house!!!!
(episode 417 - from 1980)

Ah.. that hit right in the feels.. and i'm not even from that era!! But a few years later..
Now, when it's posted on this blog, it feels justified to throw away those old VHS tapes..

The memory keeps on going!!
Who will see this someday?
Me, probably.. and you too :P

The fighting prince of Donegal...

 Dear blog,

I recently watched this movie.. when examining the VHS to throw away.. (yes.. i'm on the dark side right now) I discovered this title amongst many.. And off course.. Donegal.. a wee place in Ireland.. I just had to watch this movie before I'd toss away  in the bin.. If you can recall.. Donegal IS the place where all the folk and great traditional music is born.. (Enya, Moya, Clannad.. as the famous ones..) AND I visited Donegal in 2008.. (also almost 100 years ago..) with Mic.. And then it hit me again.. It's 13 years ago I last visited Ireland.. WHAT THE HELL HAPPEND??? What it is with time passing by? No. I deny everything... I miss Ireland..

Something about the movie nevertheless:

I was not blown away by it... but it was quite entertaining.. This movie is really old.. it's from 1966.. and this means.. it's almost 100 years old! (nono.. the calculator stated it's only 55) but still..  There aren't any well known actors in this movie (and all the 'Irish' people ARE played by Brits.. (ooh, the horror).. This movie was back in the day made by Disney.. AND i have to say.. Sometimes i got some 'Robin Hood' vibes with this movie.. (when that one was made in 1973, maybe they got the mustard from this one right here)

More about this movie on the HOLY GRAIL: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060408

The lead actor was quite handsome, and the love story in this movie, was quite cute. :)

This movie was loosely based on an Irish man from the 16th Century..

The best scene is that when they sing a cool Irish song.. :D and that's at the end of the movie:

Lots of Irish love..
