Go west..

Dear blog...
A surprise today! I found out that the Pet Shop boys covered Go West (1993).. Originally the song was made/written by the village people (1979)!! Gosh.. Go West is one of my favorite songs.. although I prefer the song of PSB.. the village people also did a good job!! :) And as someone said in comment.. they made me smile too!

Originally i heard Go west on tv too.. in 1994 there was a program on tv (BRT) which had our Belgian soccerteam (The Red Devils) cover this song too sooo poorly.. (something about the worldchampion in the USA)In the clip which was the intro to that tvshow.. we saw shots from the USA!! With a high jump by a killerwhale seen as well!! The (dutch) song was absolutly bad.. soccerplayers can do soccer.. no singing.. :O
But still.. memories hé!! I was 9 years old..

Day at SandsculptingPark in Blankenberge

Dear Blog..

Yesterday I went to the Blankenberge with Natalie and Elien.. We went to the Sandsculpting 2011, this year the sand was sculpted in a lovely disneytheme.. We loved it!! Not only we awed by the sights of pretty detailed sand'castles'.. also scenes from the disney movies were made.. At first there was the room of 'Princesses'.. with Rapunsel, Belle and with the very well-known tower of Sleeping Beauty, with all princesses before it.. (cinderella, pocahontas, Belle and Ariel, Mulan and Princess in the frog.. we then went to the place of Alice in Wonderland.. detailed sculptures yet again of The white rabbit, an almost 1m50 sculpture of the Queen of hearts.. Tweedledee and Tweedledum.. We nearly where in the real Disneyland..

There were sculptures outside.. a second castle and off course, some of the popular rides of Disneyland.. (Space Mountain, The haunted House .. even the tower of terror..)

In other indoor'rooms'.. we got to see the Pirates of the Caribbean and could take picture with the real Jack Sparrow.. made of sand :P
Hook, Peter Pan,.. junglebook, The Lion King.. most of Disney's notable movies were shown made of sand..

In one of the galaxy's (another room..) we got to find the characters of Pixar.. included Buzz Lightyear (almost 2 meters tall!!) and Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc.. and at the end the beautifull Wall - E and Eeve.. aaah.. worth every euro!! :)

In the afternoon, we went to Wenduine.. and layed at the beach.. unfortunatly the sun played hide and seek after the clouds so it got colder in the afternoon.. but still, we had some lovely and warm weather :)

It was a very good day.. too bad it was a bit overshadowed by ALL the tourist going to the beach that day!!! In the evening when we tried to get back home.. we noticed there was only 1 train in one hour to get us to Ghent.. but now everyone came back from the beach!! We got to take the next train cos the previous train was packed full!! Never seen that.. Thank God we got to take the next train :) We left Wenduine at 20.00u and arrived at Deinze.. just around 22.30u.. wowsers..

Some practical Notes.. :)
- You can take a B-dagtrips to Blankenberge.. it costs (when your still 25..) about 16 euros :)
- You can take the train from Ghent (st - Pieters) you can directly go to Blankenberge..
- If you take the train from Deinze.. you have to get on another in either Lichterveld of Ghent :)
- The opening of the Park is at 10.00 in the mornings..
- We had an awfull lot of people coming that day.. (it was one of the best warm days ever..)
go when it's not too warm... some rooms are very hot.. :O
- The distance is about 800 meters from the trainstation.. (it's actually a bit more :)) but not that far..
-You can even go with the tram if you want.. (halt at Sea Life center - it's just on the other side..) watch out.. in your Bdagtrip there's only your ticket to the Park and your trainrides.. not tram!)

Der kleine Vampir -[ Neue Abenteuer] Episode1 Part 1/3

Der Klene Vampir Neue Aben SchlottersteinHymne Filmversion

Something to talk about..

Dear Blog..
Today I want to tell about old shows from my past.. recently I discovered some material about 'Der kleine Vampier', a show from the 80's-90's.. about a boy, Anton who befriends a family of Vampires.. named Rüdiger and Anna, 2 'children' vampires..

I really loved this show!! The series were created in 2 countries.. and where by the hand of German author Angela Sommer-Bodenburg.

Television series: (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0179585/ The Little Vampire)

In 1985: (yes, I know such a good year!!) this show came out

1985 (Canada)
A 13 episode TV series that was adapted from the first two books of the series: The little Vampire and The Little Vampire Moves in. The production was shot in Edmonton, Canada and was a co production of Norddeutscher Rundfunk, TVS UK and Norflicks Canada. The show was dubbed into German and was broadcast in Germany by Norddeutscher Rundfunk.
The series starred Joel Dacks in the title role of Rüdiger, Christopher Stanton as Anton, Marsha Moreau as Anna and Canadian musician
Jim Gray as Lumpi, who sang the show's theme song "They Can See in the Dark". Gert Fröbe, known for the role of Goldfinger in the James Bond series, appeared in the series as the vampire hunter Geiermeier. It was one of Fröbe's last roles before he died in 1988.

This show was English and German Dubbed.. this wasn't the one I watched though.. it's the next one!

In 1993 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106048/) Der Kleine Vampir, Neues Abentuer

1993 (Germany)
A 13 episode sequel to the Canadian series was produced by Westdeutscher Rundfunk in 1993. The series was adapted from the third and fourth books of the series: The Little Vampire Takes a Trip and The Little Vampire on the Farm.
The series starred Jan Steilen in the title role, Matthias Ruschke as Anton, Lena Beyer as Anna and German theatre star Angelika Milster as Aunt Dorothy.

I was about 9 - 10 and absolutly adored the charachters of the show.. especially Anton and Rüdiger :) Great vampires!! :) I think it came to Belgian Tv somewhere in '94 or '95.

I also remember seeing this show at my grandparents house.. aah.. memories!! And off course, how could i forget.. In my young years I got a radio as present.. not just a radio, but also a recorder.. when I was 9 years old I recorded every song - intros of tv shows I liked from those years :) (I still have the casettes!!) (you know what casettes are yes??) :P And yes, Not only I recorded the intro.. (a very haunted song :D) - but also the schlottersteinhymne..
All episodes (13) can be watched on Youtube.. cool.. and so nostalgic!! Too bad I can't speak German.. (although it's a beautifull language!)

I also think, the dark 'tones' that were on the intro of Der kleine Vampir and the notes of the hymne, made me love the same kind of music.. thinking about Rammstein.. (huge fan of..) and off course: Crucified by Army of lovers.. )

Where are they now?
Rüdiger von Schlotterstein:

Rather unknown: He's not acting anymore: He's 30 years old now.. (OMG!)

Anton Bohnsack:

Played by Matthias Ruschke: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0750592/

He's 29 years old now and works for University/ no acting anymore.

Anna von Schlotterstein

Is also 29 years old.. some little acting.

Interesting site:

Vampires will always have a special place in my freaky heart :)

Also counted: Angel, Edward Cullen, Dracula, and so on :)

Holiday!!

Dear Blog..

Vacation!! Hooray!!
Yes... I ended my schoolyear on both schools.. Eke and Zwijnaarde.. and now it's over.. I'm officially looking for a job.. (again!)
And yes, I already have visited many schools to introduce me to new schools.. (now even as far as Gavere, Asper and Zingem!)
And off course
Some other news..

1. On thursday the 30th June, we did a tour in Ghent. Filled with questions and things to do for the now leaving Principal.. Cool things I have to add.. Even I got to learn a couple of things :D

2. In the evening we went for dinner in Du Progres, a fine restaurant somewhere in the center of Ghent.. http://www.duprogres.be/ where we had our choice of menu..

3. We even surprised our Principel with a lovely song just for him! Almost everyone was in tears after that.. it was really emotional.. pff.. Ah well. it's over, for me it was my last time too :)

4. I got loooooooots of presents from the children!! Really, it was too much! Flowers, cookies, chocolates, candy.. wow! I really was blessed with so lovely children.. I'm going to miss them :'(

But nevertheless.. the next day.. just the first of July we went on our holiday!! Together with Mic's friends from work.. Kristof.. (unfortunatly without his Kim) and Nico, with Vicky. We had a blast!! With our tent into the wild.. (and the wild it was!!.. our campingplace was soo old.. - bit disgusting too and we were the only ones with tentes. They managed a place for us next to the water of Robertville)
It was like a kind of grass field.. high grass and so on.. But there was much cozyness with us all :)
The camping really sucked.. It's the worst camping ever i've been on.. really..
they'd put us on a large grassy field.. no cows luckily! Where it was dark (on the camping itself there was a bit off streetlight)

The sanitary conditions really were bad.. i'm not going into do detail so that's only a 3/10
Our placement was nevertheless okay, we had the place for ourselves :D 7/10 (except for the darkness when you wanted to pee.. :S)
Companion!! 11/10! Cool friends!!

We did lots of things
visits too.. Plopsa Coo!
visits too.. Waimes (were our camping was..)
visits too... the electric powerplant of Coo
even climbing a mountain.. were we lost trail.. not nice..
visits too multiple cafe's and resto's..
visits too the other side: Lac of Robertville where we could go swimming and even get on a boat :) (the water was cold!)
visits too other city's closer too Germany.. like Butgenbach.. were we had to talk German! :P
visits to almost everywhere :) (by car)

Site camping: http://www.campingbellevue.be/
Site plopsa coo: http://www.plopsa.be/plopsacoo/?lang=nl
Site Robertville: http://www.robertville.be/

In the evening we got to play games of our own, almost all the time outside, cos the cafe was closed.. that's bad huh?
we even did a wee barbeque! That was just great!! (with little instant bbq!) And with our chefcook Kristof, he even did some magic with fish papillotes! very Yummy!!

Yes.. it was a great weekend.. I am a bit sad it's over.. and.. next time Kim has to come too!!

thanks to everyone :)

The circus..

Dear blog,

Not much to contribute today..
The best of this week was our schooltrip to De Haan, to visit a themepark called 'De Sierk'.
A very good place for young children! All the children from class 1 to class 3 went the whole day to the circus! The park was made as a circus, where the children could perform! We had good times! The park itself was an idea of 2 kindergartenteachers actually, so really. The children really had fun! Also on their level, of experience - of feeling and so on! It was really great, i'am taking Yasmin and Ilyes there one day too!

Whare were the good things!?
- About everything!
- Every piece of the park was created for one figure of the circus, there was the dancerswagon - the strongmansplace, the monkey cage and so on!
What did I like?
- the bikeroades through the park. There were different place you could get to take bikes, and then cross in the whole park!
- the small things you could do in de magicians wagon.. (the disapearcloset, the spider in the mirror)
- Also the little jokes to read (for the adults) there were small things, like 'stop using magic to create so much rabbits!) (on the cage with at least 20 rabbit cuddlebears..)
- the wall of the strong man: To get big muscles you had to cross a wall with different things attached to it, instead of going up, you go on the side. It always gets harder and harder!

You can say.. it was a good day! And with an kindergartenteacher's eye on it, I would recommend this park to everyong with children aged 3 to 10! Maybe combined with a trip to the beach? (De Haan's not that far from the North Sea!)

Bumpercars and bicycles..

Dear Blog,

Yesterday we had a buzzy day! Went to banks, insurances company's, city Hall and so on.. to get info about loans, 'living toegether' and so on..
I even get to rent a bike for todays bicycle tour in lovendegem.. very busy but excited day.
btw.. a very good place for renting bikes and even get nice services from small questions.. is Bike Corner in Deinze! They diserve a 10/10 for best ever service!! Good job!

More info.. for 9,50€ you can rent a bike for the day! They are quite good. (I got a Venturelli bike, Belgian craft.. --> http://www.venturelli.be/venturelli

More @ http://www.bikecorner.be/

Today,
I went bycicle riding with Mic, his friend Kristof and other friend Nico and his wife Vicky and more of Vicky's family. Startpoint Lovendegem through the green places of Hansbeke, Landegem, Bellem and Merendree. A couple of times we got to stop and had a wee break with something to drink and to eat. (for examples, the first stop was - strawberry and strawberrybeer, the next pancakes and coffee and so on! It was more of a eat, drink and ride tour.. It's the fourt time we're doing the tour. It was good, nice, beautifull things to see. The tour btw is never the same. It changes every year..

Sometimes I got really hard! It was about 30 km's long, and i'm not really used to it to bike that far! On the endpoint (the same as start point there was a smal carnival, where the boys got on the bumpercars.. I hurt my finger really hard! Those boys.. so like small children :p

Gili Tonight!

Tonight.. Gili.

I had tickets to attend his show this evening.. I went with mum. And what an evening! Very impressive kind of stuff.. Really, sometimes mindblowing and very entertaining to see.. lots of light, nice music, and lots of humor.. Mr Gili (real name Lieven Gheysen from Wiki: 'A flemish comedien, illusionist and mentalist presented his show from his tour: 'Everyone Paranormal'.. (Iedereen paranormaal)

The crowd was very enthousiastic, sow was I! I actually thought there would be more 'magicky stuff'.. like the rabbit in a magic hat.. the theme of the evening was more like.. everything can be prodicted! So he 'played' the telepath, asked numbers, drawings, even woke up the dead! (kind of spooky there.. but there was a perfect fit.. everything was perfect.. Well.. I don't want to tell everything.. so you have to see for yourself! Or.. buy his book or Dvd to enjoy the show again!

Headaches and meetings..

Dear Blog..
Today on school.. what's new.. teammeetings with collegues and principals.. very exhausting and I got hold of a very nasty headache..

Most of the meetings really make me sad and depressed. It always shows me how different and extremely hard the 'education' world is in Belgium.. and that i'm failing to follow this paper - work - time - absorbing thing we call Education..*Sigh*

Only one month ago we heared our Princepal is quitting his job.. Made me sad again, cos that's the principal who called me 2 years ago.. the first school ever that called me for a job.. since then I was really frequently called for small jobs at Zwijnaarde.. the last one lasting from December till the 3oth of June.. wow..

It will be very different next year.. Has - to - send - CV's - right away!!!

*Sigh again*

Afterwards some of the collegues asked me out for a drink :) that's cool.. we went to a very nice place not too far from school :) The place is called 'The Black Bottle'.. (De zwarte fles) http://www.zwartefles.be/
