A REDISCOVERED GEM I DID NOT KNOW I WAS MISSING IN MY LIFE.

A couple of days ago i heard this song on the readio that was most defenitly a remix from my golden years.. (what I mean = the teenage years when not everything was down the gutter like nowadays)...

And music was good..

I tried to search he artist one time - with no results .. but had good hopes of hearing it on the radio again.. today was the day.. and I found out within my research.. who the artist was en the original song from the 90's..

SO COOL..

The 90's one...

That cool note though.. it's soooo 90's!!! It takes me back to Deinze.. When hanging around fairs and going inside lunaparks.. this is wat the cool kids like isn't it?

I'm defenitly a cool kid now! Or grown up .. or just .. whatever.

Did you know i was approached by a girl from my time in middleschool? I don't think shed ever talk more of one sentence to me in the whole 2 years she was at my class!! And she just added me as a friend on facebook? Whats up with that? I'm keeping a bit of my guard up! :P

----I watched an episode of the X files! A real episode! A real one!! That means... i must be over all that alien shit that was always hanging above my head... I just don't care anymore... It must be.. that this crappy world really can't get no worse then this f*cked up year/time ... :(..

No not really.. I wachted this episode cos some familiar face was in it.. :D You know 'Aaron Paul'? Who just crushed breaking Bad? Yes! that's the one.. THE pinkman.. This particular episode just aired in 2001... about 20 freaking years ago.. (in human land terms 20 years means freaking long) (he played a teen.. he's from 1979, so in 2001 he must have been... 20 years old!)

It was actually the first moment i did not shiver when hearing the famous intro of that show.. Maybe in the 2000's I would see this on tv and immediatly would press next. cos I generally disliked this tune...

This episode did not have the famous David Duchovny whatsoever.. This has the synopsis of the episode :) and I quite liked it (it wasn't about aliens at all!)

Popeye and son..

Dit gevonden op de zolder..

Mijn jeugd op een cassette:) (en heb er nog zo'n 10tallen! Disney niet meegerekend)

deze heb ik echt wel grijsgedraaid in den ouden tijd. Hier stonden een groot aantal afleveringen op (ik denk een 6 van de gemaakte 13) en ik kan me precies ook nog ieder woord herinneren..

Met mijn nieuwe VHS/dvd speler hoop ik nu wat video's om te zetten in dvd!

Met een intro gelijkend op de beach boys (aaah daar komt die liefde vandaan!)

Een schot in de roos :)

De afleveringen en cassetje zijn van 1987, ik vermoed dat deze een jaar of 2 later werd gedistribueerd (vertaald) naar ons land. Ik denk dat ik zeker tussen 4 en 8 was.

Tgfy.. (ik claim een nieuwe afkorting! Thank God for YouTube!)

Ik vind zomaar eventjes de meeste afleveringen in het Nederlands op de site! Sorry cassetje.. u vliegt onherroepelijk de vuilbak in... (denk ik?)

The story of the gold dog..

Dear Blog...

This time an old memory..

This story even had some digging in the past! My mother couldn't help me out, but I figured it out with the help of other familymembers..

Back in the day.. my grandparents moved to Brugge (West - Flanders) a not so typical choice cos the needed to move away from the East - Flanders.. they found a nice little house not to far from Boudewijn SeaPark.. Somewhere between 1989 and 1994 (a little me between 4 to 9 yo... I definitely still has some memories about going to see my grandparents Bomma and Bompa... I even remember the house, the street and lots of other things!!

Wait for it.. maybe some little googlin' wil bring back...

When I was cleaning the attic.. I came across this... GOLDEN DOG. and it immediately got me back to somewhere between 1989 and 1994.. a flea market near the house of my grandparents in Brugge.. (me age 7 to 9)

What do I remember of the house in Brugge?

- the big livingroom - the small kitchen with a burner that had a big flame for hot water..

- the green dishwasher bottle from Dreft..

- the old biketrainer in the hallway

- the stairs that led to a couple of rooms upstairs from my aunt and uncle .. a rubiks cube in one of the rooms..

- the bathroom..

- a little room with another tv and a turning chair in wicker I think it was..

- my first trauma when watching ET.. ( I still don't like it, but can tolerate it when seeing)

- the small garden with a couple of skateboards that eventually moved to their other house, when moving back to Deinze..

- te piano in the garage (from my other aunt)

THE GOLD DOG STORY:

I am not sure I was wandering alone - or that I was in close distance to dad or mom.. I'm not even sure.. but this gold dog statuette got me back (just like a premonition) to an old memory.. I'm absolutly trying to crack the code.. but it's not in that great shape anymore and it has a lot of holes in it too.. just like a moth has been around.. I can't remember how much it costs.. I think about 50 bef (belgian franks) about 2.50 euro... but i didn't had the money and i think i needed to beg for it with someone.. i don't know who anymore.. but i got the little statuette neverthelesse :D

So.. here it is!! It's not really that much of a big deal it's not even real gold.. it's just a lassie dog.. (at that time my aunt got one - and I really like dogs) . but I will think with fond memories back to the days when visiting my grandparents in Brugge.. somewhere between 4 and 9...

Now they are allready long gone..

My grandmother Bomma died in 1998 - and my grandfather Bompa died in 2005..

They are still missed...

Thank you both.. for still the best memories I had ... and forgetting the bad and nasty ones..

that is truly precious..
