Diving with mic..

Dear Blog,

On Friday we took of for a lovely weekends in the 'Ardennes'.
Last weekend (from 18 till the 19th of september), I went away with Mic. It was a weekend filled with diving, cos Mic went there (not only with me) with his club called the Manta.. (http://www.demanta.be/).. this is a diving club from Ghent, that Mic absolutly loves! :P.. It started on friday, and we arrived at 7ish in Brûly-De-Pesche. Somewhere on the bottom of Belgium (in the state of Namen) There are a lot of diving spots over there.. so 4 dives were possible for Mic and the team, not all on the same locations :)
About our Sleeping place :)
This Gite is called: 'Gite d' Etape'. And was in fact an old school transformed in little hotel.. A kind of hotel you have to do your own cooking and cleaning off course.
The surroundings of this place was very calm and peaceful. A bit cold, but quite good. The sleeping accomodations were only consisted of twinbeds! (you know, beds on each other) They were quite nice, although we didn't got much sleep :p. We had to share our room with another couple from Ghent, nice couple. One of them was a diver as well. In the neighbourhood you could find: 'L'abri de Hitler', some kind of bunker from the worldwar.. The woods surrounding were also very enjoyable, as we wondered and walked in the woods we could find various kinds of mushrooms! Really! It was really lovely to see.

On Saturday:
One of the locations we've been, is called: 'Lac de L'eau d'heure', Platte Taille'.. I have been here before with Mic's other divingclub (Zeeroos) and we spend one dive over there. Mostly it's only half an hour the divers go under water.. so it's really not that boring.. (only when it's cold, the time can really last forever).. there were quite some things to see.. interesting and beautiful things
. (http://www.duiklokaties.com/Duiklokatie.php?id=12)
We ate lunch there and head of to 'La Croisette' a stonegrove a few kilometers from our place. The water was really beautiful over there.. you could see very clearly, and I was really intrigued by those divers under water.. I even thought I spotted Michael under there, but there was some kind of traffic jam under there, cos there were a lot of divers, and all of them wore the same suit, had the same flippers and even the same colour of divingbottle.. quite confusing, but in half an hour...
Mic had to do a test the divers call it: 'DivingGuiding': He just had to guide another diver.. (ofcourse one of his instructors..) under the water and check everything like safety and swimming and whatever they have to do :D.. This 2 times he did well, his instructors were very happy with the way he did stuff, so he passed with flying collars.. Good job Mic! He does have to do one other test and he can become a 2 star diver!.. (i'm not sure what it really means.. I think he then can go beneath the restriction of 20 meters..) I'm a right? Have to check that one..:
That night we had a really lovely dinner.. made by chef Diver! Very tasty :).. we got to our beds very early.. we were beat.

I checked the thing with the diving and the stars they need to earn. (sorry dutch!)
From Nelos:
¨1*-Duiker (duiker 1 ster CMAS) - Elementaire duiker
¨2*-Duiker (duiker 2 sterren CMAS) - Elementaire duikleider (That's Mic running for!)
¨3*-Duiker (duiker 3 sterren CMAS) - Duikleider
¨4*-Duiker (duiker 4 sterren CMAS) - Algemeen duikleider
¨Assistent Instructeur (AI)
¨drie Instructeurtitels (1 - 2 - 3ster)

Just like chinese to me.
On Sunday:
The next day we allready had to pack.. cos we needed to leave at 10.. This time we headed for 'Vodelee', (http://www.duiklokaties.com/Duiklokatie.php?id=4), Mic could dive 2 times here. It was again a rather small place, (croisette was smaller I think). Still it was a lovely site to see and Mic enjoyed himself over there.. He and I had a great time. I even enjoyed it too, especially with that great weather we had! :)
And all of Mic's collegues had the same question, when will I start diving!? Hmm.. now i'm not sure about that yet.. The thing is, in my younger years I would have love to do this.. I would love to see the Great Barrier reef sometimes and dive etc etc.. but now i've grown, I'm a bit hesitated by it.. It's quite expensive to buy everything.. and the big factor.. It's soooo COLD! now... i'm really a wimp aren't I.. yes.. I think so too. If I ever move to Australia.. then absolutly definetly and almost as quickly as I can :).. Not now. And if I ever get to the diving thing.. I must have a photocamera with me :).. wow.. I need to win the lottory SOON!

This was our weekend! :D
